I know the system in and out, so I know how to get thar fustest wit da mostest! And as such my pulling ahead is just going to get worse, and that is not fair to the other players. Cheers, Thor |

After realizing that the missions were about as clear as a muddy pond I have begun to redo the missions. Below is the new look for them. Let me know if this works for you all before I do them all up in this fashion. Code: Orbital Satellite Hardware Required: ________________________ Lifting Body Orbital Satellite Communications Package Mission Steps Step Hardware Safety Check ________________________________________ Launch MLB Orbital Insertion Burn MLB Hardware Power On Orb Sat Hardware Power On Comm Pack Cheers, Thor |

It's an easy to read format. Maybe I am just used to the way you do things as i did not have issues with the way it was already listed. Work with Ken long enough, you begin to think like him(shudder...) |

Why I am glad Tssha and MrAnderson decided to join the game! All turns recieved have been processed, and new turns sent out. Cheers, Thor |

Shiny. Alot easier to read, plus I don't have to copy the format each mission. |

mavikfelna wrote: Something is nagging me about the new format but I can't pin it down yet. Maybe just indent the hardware list since it all kind of runs together. It's nice having all the mission steps and hardware listed in the mission description though. --Mav Mav, I think it is the Code thingie for posting here on the forum. I tried to use the Underline and Bold stuff, but did not show up. But if you can pinpoint what is bothering you, shout it out. @MrAnderson, that's the idea. Make the game easier for the players to have fun with. Cheers, Thor |

How does this look as the new template? Code: 9.0 MISSIONS AND STEPS Orbital Satellite Hardware Required: 1.) Lifting Body 2.) Orbital Satellite 3.) I think I have settled on the final look. Below is the new header and the first three missions. Comments are required! 9.0 MISSION DESCRIPTIONS Any hardware beyond the minimum required will also add a step, and what type of step it will be depends on the hardware added. Any revelant astronaut skills will be subtracted from the die roll for that check. Capsule Piloting from Capsule checks, etc. etc. Code: Orbital Satellite Hardware Required: 1.) Main Lifting Body 2.) Orbital Satellite 3.) Communications Package Mission Steps Step Hardware Safety Check ____________________________________________________ Launch MLB Orbital Insertion Burn MLB Hardware Power On Orb Sat Hardware Power On Comm Pack Unmanned Sub-Orbital Hardware Required: 1.) Main Lifting Body 2.) Capsule Mission Steps Step Hardware Safety Check ____________________________________________________ Launch MLB Re-entry Capsule Recovery/Landing Capsule Animal Sub-Orbital Hardware Required: 1.) Main Lifting Body 2.) Capsule Mission Steps Step Hardware Safety Check ____________________________________________________ Launch MLB Re-entry Capsule Recovery/Landing Capsule Cheers, Thor |

Halfway through the year already! It's really starting to heat up, and i'm working on a newspaper template. Also nice work on the mission layout. Edit: Might as well post it here, but do we need to "enroll" our astronauts in basic training or are they already trained? |

So input like this is very valuable. Since I made a goof at the end of last year I auto enrolled your 'nauts into basic once it was completed. They should be in training now. Cheers, Thor |

Guys, today I am just going to process Mav's, and Tssha's if he turns one in, turns. I will be finishing up the new rules additions. This will give Mav and Tssha a chance to catch up. But, at the same time I do not want to halt the game for the rest, since it would not be fair for the players who submit their turns on time. So, new GM Rule. If a player gets more than 4 turns behind in the game, any first prestige points he may have gotten by turning in his turns, will be forfieted and the players, who have kept current, may capture them. Even if a month or so after the player which is behind would have. Example: Player A is 6 months behind the rest of the players, his last turn sent in was Dec, and would have gotten the first PPs for manned orbital in May. The rest of the players have turned in their June turns. So Player B, who launched a manned orbital in June will get the first PPs for that milestone and mission. Cheers, Thor |

Hey, another question. If you complete your mission milestones out of order, does the milestone still count as complete? For example, you get Unmanned Sub-Orbital before Orbital Satellites, is the Unmanned Sub-Orbital considered complete if you don't have orbital satellite complete? Does it count after you get orbital satellite? Or do you have to launch a later mission to complete that milestone? |

The only milestone order of precedence is listed in the header paragraph for Milestones in the rules. As for the example, you have to run at least one Orb-Sat mission, and one Unmanned Sub-Orb, to complete those Milestones. Completing one does not complete the other. I hope this answers your question. Cheers, Thor |

I'm mostly wondering if not completing one milestone holds up the others. I guess this relates to my program in particular, due to a failure to launch. Do I have to relaunch my unmanned Sub-Orbital (now that I have a functioning satellite in orbit), or has that already been counted? |

Tssha wrote: I'm mostly wondering if not completing one milestone holds up the others. I guess this relates to my program in particular, due to a failure to launch. Do I have to relaunch my unmanned Sub-Orbital (now that I have a functioning satellite in orbit), or has that already been counted? To complete a Milestone the mission must be a complete success. So yes, you will need to run another mission. And to clarify, the Milestones should be completed in the sequence as listed in the rules, but it is not mandatory. Only those listed in the header paragraph of the rules are a mandatory order of launch. Unless a Milestone is listed as needing another one completed before it, they do not hold up any of the others. But trying to run a mission that skips a lot of other mission types will... umm, not be pretty for said Agency that tried it. For example, if you jump straight to Manned Orbital out of the gate, without doing the Orb Sat, Sub-Orb, or the animal milestones, you are looking at a +20 to each and every die roll for each step in the mission. Pretty much guaranteeing a failure, but, you could also get lucky too! Cheers, Thor |
