You guys and girls seen the BBC series ROME? How did you find it? Is it accurate? I am not sure myself but it seems rather good in many aspects, though I haven't studied the romans as much as Thor mind you... :w

Zed, as far as period costumes and setting, it was outstanding. About the best that broadcast media can make.

That being said, the historicity was, well, hollywoodish at the best. So I would say I loved the look, made me feel like I was in the Imperium Romanum, but the story had to be taken with about 20 pounds of salt. :bs

I thought as much, but one thing I would have like to know is if that centurion was a real life historic character or just a spinn of from some designers imagination. Do you know? :AH

Not sure, but if I had to say I would land on the side that he is made up. Not too many lives of the small folk was recorded. And what we do know comes from graves and such. :AH

I wish somebody would do a movie on the Siege of Alesia where Caesar was besieging Vercengetorix and then was besieged himself by 250,000 Gallic warriors. THAT would make one HELL of an action movie I think.
