Browsing the forums at TP as I sometimes do I stumbled across this guy doing the most impressive drawings, many of them with military and especially Metal Gear as an obvious source of inspiration.

Check it for your self if you think that might be interresting. Anyways here is one of the many drawings I trust you guys know how to manipulate the url to see the rest: http://www.tokyopop.com/Suikostar/art/122714.html :w [/url]

That is some good art there, but imo it has too much anime influence, but I can see why folks like it. :AH

Yup, don't get me wrong, I have nothing against anime, I just prefer the more realistic art style. But I can see why it is popular though. :AH

Big Metal Gear Fan here. I love the games though Sons of Liberty lost me but Snake Eater brought me back on track and I can't wait for the 4th game to hit. Its almost enough motivation to shell out for a PS3... Almost.

Its much much much better and the story line is sooo much easier to track. Not to mention its set in the 60's I believe...

Hehe, I was the first person here in the Philippines to ever finish the MGS. Maybe because flips don't have enough patience to go through the japanese version of the game. :P

But I have to agree with you, SOL was truly the lousiest of the series (only because of the storyline, mind you). Had they just disposed of Raiden then it would've been a better game.

God, I miss MGS, MG, and MG:SS.

Well the enemies are on this concept idea. They all exhibit an emotion found in war (who are led by The Boss I guess the sensei of Snake). The only memorable boss is this guy covered in wasps ("The Pain" I believe).

Yeah Psycho Mantis was a fun boss...

And I think the #1 reason you know you are a hardcore MGS fan is:

You cry everytime you watch Sniper Wolf's death scene.

@wolf

Damn I think the woman was the one to officially make me a sucker for feme fatales :w That scene where she tell Snake she's put her mark on him and that she allways kill what she marks is still way up there with gaming moments :gl

@Anarchy
You finished it in japanese? Respect man, how did you manage it?

Patience, Zed. Pure patience. Perhaps the hardest part of the game was trying to understand what the hell Baker was talking about (the one where you have to look at the back of the cd case to find out Meryl's fucking number). I had to go through every single codec number on that part.

And Psycho Mantis wasn't so bad without the 2nd player glitch where he can't read your mind.

I just really loved the game too much to actually quit on it (even though I could barely understand what they were saying and the story itself). But I really fell in love with the game when I was finally able to buy the english version. The story was too fucking good. Kudos to Kojima for making MGS but screw him for creating Raiden and SOL and destroying the entire MGS series. :P

And MGS would actually be the third of the series. The first would be Metal Gear. Second would be MG: Solid Snake.

I actually laughed at Sniper Wolf's death. Mostly 'cause it was a bitch trying to beat her using a fucking sniper rifle the first time around.

:bs Yeah her death made me grin to, but that might have had something to do with me using a homing missile to hit her in the ass, and the last thing I saw of her before the theatrical death scene was her surpriced face as it impacted :gl
