Right so I am sort of making myself into a reviewer here but what the heck. Any one seen the film? It deals with Hitlers last days of power and his slowly deteriating control of both his troops and himself. It's excellently done with all german actors speaking german and the locations looks breathtaking. If you're going to see a film about the war then see this one!

Hmm I've heard of this one. Another good one is Downfall. It was made in Germany a few years ago (I think just before I went to Boot) and is about well... the downfall and the last days of the Third Reich. Puts a good human impression on what could have went on down there.

In that case wolf these two movies have excactly the same angle. And yes it is subtitled and the actor playing Adolf is so like any picture you have ever seen of the dictator that you wouldn't know the difference! And (at least on the version I have) there is a pretty heavy interview with him on how he feelt it was to utter the most grave natzi propaganda and yet be able to be himself a none racial and regular actor.

Oh and just so you know my german isn't much better I'd imagine :w

It's really a thought provoking film with one scene heavier then the next. Personally I think this is a MUST HAVE! and rate it 5 of five stars!

I think two scenes that stick out in my memory from Downfall are when he's awarding Iron Crosses to a bunch of Volksgrenadier (all kids)

and this underlying story line of another group of kids that man a PaK im the middle of the street. Their NCO gets killed and they are getting overrun, the two older kids send the younger ones away and are getting ready to run when out of the clear the girl hands a boy a pistol and tells him to shoot her... Which he does...

Sorry no, but I might just do that since I have some ideel time right now. And now I am pretty sure we are talking about the same movie wolf. (It must be they can't both have that similar scenes) The question that arise is why did the publichers think they needed to rename it before releasing it on the American marked? :AC

Yes we are. I always thought it was two different movies but it turns out that they are the same. I guess they changed the title so Americans/British wouldn't wonder what "Der Untergang" means. So its "Downfall" to us.

Yeah it just seems silly well as I said no matter, I am not an english man nor american and I got it with the original title so it's really not my fight :w
