My forum rank matches my real one... Though I've been getting two quarters worth of composite scores. Though the score for Corporal is about 100 above me....

Here's hoping that it drops down!

You may gain E-4 Rank here before you do in RL. :w :bs

But lets hope the Wing promotes as fast as combat arms and you get your second stripe.

Well the problem with the wing is that we have too many Corporals running around. Granted it doesn't look like many but take my shop for instance:

Airframes Division Chief: SSGT
Airframes SNCOIC/Day Crew Workcenter Supervisor: SSGT
Night Crew Workcenter Supervisor: SGT
Workers and CDI's: 4 CPLs, around 12 LCPLs and 2 PFCs.

Some Shops have more CPLs than they do Nonrates.

But its the fact that about 50% of the people who get to the fleet are LCPLs and about 80% of those who aren't get promoted to LCPL within their first 6 months in the fleet makes for a lot of competition for CPL. That and our stupid 5 year active enlistments which keep our seniors (and us) in longer than usual.

Our scores for my MOS aren't that high. Its running a high 1600's at the moment. Grunts are running a mid 1700's. But I'm still about 150 points short. So hopefully I get lucky and it'll drop, cuz I've done everything I can do on my end. Shot a better rifle score, a steady increasing PFT. Done a ton of MCI courses. The only thing left to do is wait and keep doing good at my job.

Yeah I remember that now from when I was attached to H&HS MCAS on the Pit. It seemed they had more chiefs than indians at times. :bs

Man they raised the Combat Arms score to that high? Damn when I was in I only needed 1500 for Corporal, but then again my MOS was 3531. :bs

EDIT: I forgot to ask, does MCAS Miramar have a NARF facility there? Or are you assigned to a MAG?

Cheers, Thorgrimm

NARF? Well I guess since I haven't heard of it we don't have it, but this base surprises me time and time again ("Wait we have a rifle range?" Its actually at Camp Elliott across the highway, but its considered the "Miramar Range").

I'm assigned to MAG-11. I think MAG-16 is the chopper Group.

Sorry dude, NARF = Naval Air Rework Facility.

I think they used to have a NARF on MCAS El Toro, but I did not know if they had moved it or just shut it down when El Toro was closed.

I'm going to guess thats what we'd call "Depot Level Maintenance" i.e. way over our heads. For airframes thats cracked ribs, deep dents, etc etc. Yeah its called NADEP (Naval Depot) and its all contractors. Ours are a "detachment" from North Island. Them guys put in some long hours but if I hear right they make some mad money!
